About Me

Profile pic

Celebrating my 50th birthday.

I’m Dianne and I’m a lifelong crafter. I grew up in a large, creative family with many kinds of inventive and imaginative outlets. I love getting out my craft supplies and starting on a project. I’m very visual and learn best if I can see something. I also love sharing my ideas with others and encouraging their creative expression.

In addition to making pretty things to look at, I also love to cook. I used to cater and worked as a food-styling assistant. So besides crafting, I will post recipes.  If I make something delicious I want to share it.  If it is also easy or I’ve found an easier way to make it, I’ll tell you about it.

The other posts will be those moments in my life that don’t fit under the first two categories.

I work at a community college, and live with my boyfriend of 15 years in a small apartment in Northern California. I don’t have an art degree or a studio or even a craft room. Our kitchen is small and the dining table was also my crafting area until my recent craft clean up when I reorganized my supplies and crafting bins and squeezed in a new crafting desk.  I may not have much space, but I have lots of ideas and a blog seems like a good way to show and share them.

Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Looks great! Keep up the creativity! I’m new to blogging too and LOVE it! Happy blogging!

    • I’m pretty new to blogging myself and I agree, it is fun. It is wonderful both to have a creative outlet (the crafting) and a way to share it (the blogging). I find the blogging to be another form of creativity (writing, photos, layout, etc.) It takes time but gives me great pleasure. Thanks for your comments!

  6. Great photo and description. I tried scrap-booking and it didn’t take well. I think my craftiness lies in the outdoors and a camera. Enjoy blogging!

    • I’m not much into scrapbooking but I know some people live for it. Outdoors with a camera sounds great. I am loving blogging, especially on a day like today – so many nice messages and new subscriptions.

    Dianne,

All last year I used Google Blogger for my blogs, but became frustrated with the posting process, so I’m slowly moving over to WordPress. I’m still working my way around WordPress, trying to figure out it all out without, of course, reading any directions. Oh, no, not me! But, I’ve been studying your blog and two others for ideas on layout. Your blog is very easy to read, yet professional looking. I’m enjoying my visits, reading your crafty posts, and keep coming back. Thanks!

    • Dear Mrs. M – Why thank you! What a lovely message. I’m terribly behind with blog posts at the moment. I really appreciate the award and look to respond in the future. I hope you understand. That is so kind of you to think of me.

  13. Living life well! Self expression and creativity make all our experiences matter so much more. Nice blog Dianne. I especially love the art journaling. Inspiration!

    • Thank you for the lovely comment. I know for me it is important to have time and place for self expression and creativity. I start to get out of sorts if I don’t spend some time crafting.
